In the composition of his works, overlapping forms or subjects gives a perspectival effect. The use of colored plans contributes to effect of depth. The colors are not used to identify objects or people but create a certain atmospheric field. In other paintings, the libear perspective gives us a better understanding of the art. The use of oblique vectors energizes the movement by the gripping of the object towards the viewer.

 

His main trait, by the color palette, recalls Fauvism. His technique is closer to American abstract expressionists of the first wave. Unlike abstract expressionists,  Yan D. Soloh is characterized by the presence of a narrative speech while incorporating the violence of gesture , all the while not being abstract.

 

The artist practices a figurative painting close to Bad Painting, by his Baroque treatment ,his generous impasto,  its overload of color, differences themselves from conventional rules of composition.
